Idea – Where business ideas come from


Identification is the creative process of creating, developing and communicating new business ideas. When we plan to start a new business, we either take advantage of an existing concept or develop a different one. The same goes for existing business growth. I’ve always struggled with determining what is difficult – finding or implementing an idea.

Sometimes ideas are easy to understand, and the hard part is deciding if it’s good enough in terms of the foundation to grow a profitable business. If you have what you believe is a “great idea”, the next challenge is to prove or test that it will translate into a successful project.

Then there are times when finding a practical idea is the hardest thing. It’s as if all the good ideas have been taken away, and you’re left with the resources and the desire to start or grow a business, but without a great idea. The ideological process can take a day or several years, and like the creative process, rushing through it is usually fruitful. Aside from other common barriers to resources (money and people), the lack of a “good” idea is often what prevents people from pursuing their dream of owning it.

A new business starts with creativity. The process of developing this idea, and your business concept, may involve some level of testing by prototyping and attrition. During these early stages your idea will undoubtedly develop and may even take shape in a few different things. There are three main categories for business ideas, And considering these categories can help validate the next great brain maker or your presence.

  • New – A new invention or business idea. Examples could include Segway, virtual reality and other product inventions. This is the most difficult category for new business ideas. Very few are really and completely new ideas. By “new” I mean something that does not exist at all now and does not exist in any way in the past. It’s easy to confuse a new idea with something that really improves or hinders the current work or doing something the traditional way. It’s really hard to come up with new and unique ideas, so don’t be paralyzed by thinking that this is the only source of viable new ideas.

  • Improvement – This is a better mouse trap than the saying goes. Examples include outdoor express car wash (where you live in the car), Virgin Airlines, LED lighting, and Disneyland. Most small businesses probably fall into this category. You take an existing service or product and you better make or deliver it directly or indirectly. For example, you can make it a better quality raw material, or you can add value to a product or service by adding additional services or additions.
  • Disruption – A new and revolutionary way of doing things. Examples include Ober, Airbnb, and Amazon. Our modern interconnected world – made possible by the help of the Internet – now allows us to completely innovate, transform and transform entire industries. The Internet and other technologies are not the only way to implement a disruptive business idea, but it has certainly accelerated our ability to do so.

Where do great ideas come from? Sources of ideas may include reading, podcasts, art, architecture, personal experiences, travel, conversations, hobbies, borrowing from others, mob creativity, crowd sourcing, and trying to solve current problems in our world. ۔ Ideas for existing businesses, usually the best source of ideas are your customers. Yet it takes more than just experimenting or reading to ignite your next great idea.

Does that mean you have to be creative to come up with good business ideas? I believe that creativity is certainly an important component of simplicity and theory, as well as theory. However, the challenge for many people is that they either have little confidence in their natural creativity or do not have the courage to express and tap into it. The process of creating an idea is much like the creative process in which we offer something personally to be decided by others. You need to have the courage and confidence to come up with ideas that others might think are frivolous or ridiculous. The ideal process is to identify one or more business ideas, test them, and then continue to develop the idea that has the best chance of success. Of course, always remember that the real test of an idea’s business execution is ultimately entirely with the customer. Also remember that if your idea was simple, maybe someone else would have done it already.

Here are some questions to ask yourself to qualify for your business ideas:

  • What do I need my product or service for? What problem does this solve?
  • What are the features and benefits of my offer?
  • What is my competitive advantage? What makes this idea really unique in my market?
  • How do I think my skills and experience fit?
  • How will I be able to test and demonstrate it?
  • What resources will I need to make this idea into a viable business?
  • Does my idea solve the problem of billions of people, or just a few people?
  • Can I imagine putting this idea into practice for the next 5 to 10 years?
